You can unlock an extra row of skills that can be used by using guard + 1 of the attack buttons, via Virtuoso's Ventite, from early class 4 Islands. Here are my Martial arte and Malak Arte key binds for Eizen. All of these things combined tend to discourage new players from using him or learning him. His base physical defense is also the lowest out of the whole cast.
His break soul requires specific conditions to be activated, he does't have the greatest elemental weakness coverage compared to some other characters, and some of his moves feel like they don't link well together or are a little clunky. Yet despite all this, he is one of the harder characters to learn and master in my opinion. Even if your not gonna be playing him yourself, you will probably include him in the main party line up just because he's that good. He has great crowd control and AOE capabilities, insane mobility, and pretty much every tool to cover practically every situation.
